Blog Your Blessings Sunday-- Memories

If you care to join us acknowledging our blessings go here: Blue Panther

For ten days this winter, we had snow everyday, even if it was just a little. I think the total was 14 inches. Now, all that remains are the memories and the photos I took. This is one of my favorites as the deep brown fence contrasts well with the snow below it AND on it and gives depth to the tree beyond the fence with its many branches covered with a blanket of snow. Without that deep brown fence contrast, it would just be another black and white photo.

We usually don't get much snow here but this year's snowfall broke some long standing records this winter so far. Now, with the rain and cold lingering and the white beauty gone, I can sit back and remember the snow memories I made this year even IF we don't get any more snow this winter. (What an awful thought that "no more" is. . . )

So, for sure, I can't count on my SNOW MEMORIES from this winter and that is definitely a blessing in my book!

PS Thanks to Storyteller for the snowman graphic.

That's a wonderful photo. The line of snow through the middle had me going. My eye merged foreground and background, in a lovely moment, and then I tried to decipher the graffito (a habit!). I sat back and enjoyed the whole winter scene. It's a delight. I am glad that show made you happy, and I hope more comes your way.

Two things the snow here has helped me with... one is "things to do with the kiddo" as the toboggan has been broken out... (and the skates, but don't need snow to cover that off...) and a bit of education as the kiddo made her discovery...
"You know, when it snows... it's warmer outside than when it isn't... Why is that?"
Being a science geek and being able to share the "reasons" why snow indicates SLIGHTLY warmer temps made me happy... and was also a blessing! So, you got my vote... snow is indeed a blessing!

It was lovely to have a white Christmas here too for a change :) We got more snow last night, and to be honest i too prefer it far more than the rain. Happy BYB Sunday :)

You're absolutely right paulie. It's the contrast of the dark fence that really makes this photo. Another good shot!

The picture looks very good indeed. Just as you said, the deep brown fence contrasts with the white snow and makes the picture beautiful.

"No More" is most definitely an awful thought, what is better is to hope for more snow this year...and even if there is no snow this year, there is always next year to hope for.

The snowman graphic is very beautiful too and I must thank Storyteller for it too.

Lastly, I must thank you for visiting my blog regularly!

Have a great and blessed week ahead!

I'm not a "snow person", but I have no problem with watching it on your pictures!

PS Thank you so much for the comments, both on my own blog and on David's - I feel honoured indeed!

About Me

My photo
WELCOME to my blog. I hope you will return often.

I am on my third digital camera, all Olympus. I enjoy using it and sharing my photos. I also enjoy writing. I hope to share a little of each on this blog. My main blog is Postcards From the Northwest.

Kerri and I will continue to add benches to "For the Love of Benches Continued . . . " blog also. It is good to continue to share with her!

Continuation of the Kiggins House Re-model photos were lost when my computer crashed.

The latest city project, TURTLE PLACE, will unfold here as I have time to add photos. It is complete and maybe I can find enough photos someday to show you the final results. Next project after the two I am working on now. . .
