For ten days this winter, we had snow everyday, even if it was just a little. I think the total was 14 inches. Now, all that remains are the memories and the photos I took. This is one of my favorites as the deep brown fence contrasts well with the snow below it AND on it and gives depth to the tree beyond the fence with its many branches covered with a blanket of snow. Without that deep brown fence contrast, it would just be another black and white photo.

We usually don't get much snow here but this year's snowfall broke some long standing records this winter so far. Now, with the rain and cold lingering and the white beauty gone, I can sit back and remember the snow memories I made this year even IF we don't get any more snow this winter. (What an awful thought that "no more" is. . . )

So, for sure, I can't count on my SNOW MEMORIES from this winter and that is definitely a blessing in my book!

Snow walk continued. . .

The snow is getting deep on the ground and even in the trees!

Thought this was neat how the snow covered the bushes and made a curvy line against the wall background.
I couldn't see the trail by the replica of Fort Vancouver at the end of the Land Bridge and mistakenly walked the trail east to the fence around the Fort. It was quite deep in places up to my knees!
Now if the snow on this bench were soft and warm, it would make a soft cushion. . . unfortunately, it is only soft to look at and comfortable to one's eyes.

Although this looks like a bench along the pedestrian bridge over Hiway 14, it is really just a cement curbing to keep people out of the flower beds. The unique looking iron fence is to prevent people from jumping over it onto the hiway which runs under it or railroad tracks which run parallel
to the river beyond.

Definitely surprised to see the snow all the way down to the river AND ice on the Columbia River too! The snow was so deep over to the fence by the Columbia that I could hardly walk through it.
This is another bench on my way down to the river and the LAND BRIDGE. Now only if that snow were a soft cushion, it might be a nice place for a rest!
As I was taking a photo of the icy branches, a Starling flew into the picture. . .


I have been talking almost daily photos of this bench since it started snowing. . . it is two blocks from my home and seems to be in a strange place near the curb facing the house. Besides it being a beautiful bench, it is "frosted" with all that snow!

This picnic table is in my neighborhood near the Kiggins House. It was kinda tough walking through the park because of all the snow.
