My blessing this week was an opportunity to walk over the I-205 bridge (with blue skies as an added blessing) from Vancouver, WA to Portland,OR. I have lived here 22 years and only this week, found the walkway to get to that bridge. It isn't easy when walking, but hidden. You will learn more about this bridge the first Monday of March on my "Bridges Between" post.

Looking back to Vancouver from the pedestrian/bicycle walkway on the bridge. See that white spot in the background? Well, look to the left at the other"white"spot and see Mt.St Helens, also covered in snow. I forgot to look back and take a photo when I was closer to Vancouver than Portland as I walked over the I-205 bridge. CLICK on to see Mt. St Helens. Next time I walk the bridge, I will remember to look towards Vancouver too. Taking the bus home, there was a big beautiful view of Mt.St.Helens. It is important to remember to look back from where you came when taking photos too!
Looking towards Portland, one can see the airport tower from Portland Internatinal Airport. It is between the tree on the left and the rest of the foreground trees that are in Vancouver.

The whole post is fantastic; your two pictures with Mt hood are wonderful, you made a fantastic walk under the blue sky;I easily understand that you came home with bus, you walked a long time!
The only thing is : had you to walk between the two highways during a long time? It's strange to let pedestrians and bikes in the middle of cars. Here, they are on the sides of the road.
An other geographical question : when you speak about Mt St Helen, is it the mountain that explosed in the 80 ies (or something like that), because it was an ancient volcano?
Another thought would be to take the bus to the other side some day and walk back. It would give a different perspective.
Is the pedestrian walkway in the center between the traffic lanes? that's kind of how it looks. I'm not sure if I would like that--but then, I'm not to keen on being on the edge of bridges, so maybe it would be a good thing.

Beautiful! The mountains in the distance have snow on them here, but it's been too overcast to capture a photo clear enough to post.

As I was reading and looking at your post I was thinking how brave you are to walk over a bridge, then I saw your picture of the walkway. How cool to have a walk/bike area on a bridge, awesome! The pictures were great I can see why you wanted to take this walk. God blesses us everyday in nature - What an Awesome God we serve!
