Blog Your Blessings Sunday #45
If you care to join us acknowledging our blessings go here: Blue Panther
I was walking around a nearby neighborhood when I spotted RASPBERRIES! I was surprised to see it this time of the year. I actually sampled some on a couple different occasions. Friday, I met the lady who grows them! She invited me to sample some. She says they grow their garden in the area between the sidewalk and the street because there is no sunshine in the back of the house because of the two big trees in her yard. Now, I have solved the reason why so many in this neighborhood are gardening in the curb areas.
Anyway, having the taste of a ripe raspberry at this time of year was wonderful and quite the blessing! CLICK on photo to enlarge to see even the unripe berries look scrumptious!

About Me

- WELCOME to my blog. I hope you will return often.
I am on my third digital camera, all Olympus. I enjoy using it and sharing my photos. I also enjoy writing. I hope to share a little of each on this blog. My main blog is Postcards From the Northwest.
Kerri and I will continue to add benches to "For the Love of Benches Continued . . . " blog also. It is good to continue to share with her!
Continuation of the Kiggins House Re-model photos were lost when my computer crashed.
The latest city project, TURTLE PLACE, will unfold here as I have time to add photos. It is complete and maybe I can find enough photos someday to show you the final results. Next project after the two I am working on now. . .

That is one lonely ripe raspberry did you pick and eat it?
Well, it is lonely only that it alone is ripe but there are at least 9 more ready to turn red. If you enlarge the photo, you can see they will soon be ready for eating too!
An unexpected experience to remind us of other times.
HMMM! I did not eat berries for years! Those ones make me think about childhood, when I used to eat kilos of them! After that , I was sick, of course, but I did it again as soon as I could!!
How utterly delightful … especially in the Northwest! I’m still getting a few strawberries from MY plants, but I’m considerably farther south where it’s much warmer. I enjoyed the soon to be ‘jack-o-lantern’ (and perhaps a pie too?) and the ‘squirrels’ too ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Very nice picture! Makes me want to pluck the berry and eat it... :0)
One of my favourite berries!!!!
Thank you for the kind comment!
That would be a beautiful blessing! Today I smelled wild grapes with a dear friend of mine, and the experience was heavenly. What rich gifts lie before us if only we look.
Yummy!
I've never seen wild Raspberries growing.
Mama Bear
Late Summer and Fall are BEST for wild raspberries, blackberries, and blue berries I find... and oh yes, what a blessing they are indeed!!! Many, many fond memories as a lad wandering through the fields up North collecting berries...
What a beautiful looking raspberry!
