I don;t think of a pumplin as a Halloween symbol. . . To me, pumpkins represent the harvest time and is one of the vegetables that represent Thanksgiving. IF the pumpkin gets carved with a face, then it is for Halloween. . .

I agree with you. I have faux pumpkins on my porch and a few that have faces which I've turned to the wall. I don't really decorate for Halloween, but with scarecrows, hay, corn stalks and pumpkins. I love seeing them with Mums. I walked yesterday and made lots of photos. Didn't see that much Halloween stuff out.
I also like to see a field full of pumpkins.

A nice decoration on the porch. When I grew up, when I was a child and a teenager, we did not celebrate Halloween in Norway. It has come to stay for the latest generation.. I prefer the pumpkin more as an icon of the harvest to the Halloween.. :)

I like to carve some pumpkins, but also leave some uncarved so they will stay "good" through the Thanksgiving season.
I love the squatty shape of this pumpkin. Fall is my favorite!
