Summer Beauty

I always forget the name of this beauty but I sure do like to photograph it. I know I could probably look through old posts and find the name but I am sure that someone will tell me.

Beauty is right. I always want to call it a thistle, but I think it has another name.

I don't remember the english name, but in french, it's "CHARDON". this flower is highly protected here, and can often be also blue ; I like the little beasts on it. It must smell good!

When I grew up in the late 50's these were everywhere in Australia, on many vacant lots and roadsides. We called them "scotch thistles" and rather than highly protected they were sprayed and eradicated. Now you never see them -or many vacant lots come to think of it!! Nice pics.

I love that flower. Down here in Texas, it is considered a weed.

I've never seen those before but I agree with your title.

I think thistles are gorgeous too...but I do dislike their thorns. ;-)

Spectacular flowers . . . I've been gone . . . it's good to return to your photo-beauties.

About Me

My photo
WELCOME to my blog. I hope you will return often.

I am on my third digital camera, all Olympus. I enjoy using it and sharing my photos. I also enjoy writing. I hope to share a little of each on this blog. My main blog is Postcards From the Northwest.

Kerri and I will continue to add benches to "For the Love of Benches Continued . . . " blog also. It is good to continue to share with her!

Continuation of the Kiggins House Re-model photos were lost when my computer crashed.

The latest city project, TURTLE PLACE, will unfold here as I have time to add photos. It is complete and maybe I can find enough photos someday to show you the final results. Next project after the two I am working on now. . .
