Iris by Veterans Hospital

I went past this fence by the VA hospital several times on the bus and just knew I had to stop and walk over there -- to the other side of the curved fence. I finally did that this past week and I was rewarded with hundreds, if not thousands, of Iris plants all bordering the fence that surrounds the property on the 4th Plain side. It was a lovely site to see . My camera lens could not take them all in but this will show you a portion of them and a few closer up too. The photos after the first one are ones that were a bit different than the many deep purples ones in the first photos that were aongst them. What do you think?

The deep purple ones at the top remind me of royalty--how beautiful!

I think that I've never seen as much iris at the same place at the same time!!The gardener must have quite a lot of work to take care of them...

Oh Paulie these are so beautiful. Mine are not doing much yet.
Thank you for the welcome back, this batch of kittens should be easier as the momma is very loving and takes very good care of her 5 babies. They are about a week old.

I left a comment on my blog for you but will just post it here as well.

I don't do this for the Humane Society, they are not a no kill shelter. I took some babies there a few yrs ago because we were leaving for vacation they were from a feral cat and the kittens were not tame. The lady at the shelter asked if they had been handled and i said no i just found them, she told me that they do not have the time to tame them so they will be uthenized, i was so upset to this day i have felt so bad that i didn't take the kittens back. I don't consider them humane at all. The CRAFT is a no kill for cats. She does everything to make sure that the cats either find homes or she keeps them forever if they are not adopted. Some of them have many medical problems so most people don't want them.

About Me

My photo
WELCOME to my blog. I hope you will return often.

I am on my third digital camera, all Olympus. I enjoy using it and sharing my photos. I also enjoy writing. I hope to share a little of each on this blog. My main blog is Postcards From the Northwest.

Kerri and I will continue to add benches to "For the Love of Benches Continued . . . " blog also. It is good to continue to share with her!

Continuation of the Kiggins House Re-model photos were lost when my computer crashed.

The latest city project, TURTLE PLACE, will unfold here as I have time to add photos. It is complete and maybe I can find enough photos someday to show you the final results. Next project after the two I am working on now. . .
